The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University is a public University. It was established in the year 1987. It is the only Medical University in the state of Tamil Nadu to grant affiliation to medical and paramedical colleges and awarding degrees.
With Medical and Paramedical programmes, dental education is also regulated by the University. Research and disseminates knowledge gained therefrom is also promoted by the University. Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R Medical University is working with the Motto of “Health for All”. It is affiliated to UGC. The University is named after the former CM of Tamil Nadu, late Dr. M.G. Ramachandran.
